Fall 2020 Political Science Department Classes Will Be Online

Political Science Majors, I wanted to give you an update on the status of Fall classes so that you can better plan ahead. As a precaution given the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, CUNY and Hunter College are moving most classes online for Fall 2020. ALL POLITICAL SCIENCE CLASSES FOR FALL 2020 WILL BE ONLINE. Your classes in other departments (e.g., science labs, arts, and performing arts classes) may be online or in-person. The method of instruction (online/hybrid/in-person) for individual classes should appear on CUNYFirst sometime in August. But to repeat, ALL POLITICAL SCIENCE CLASSES WILL BE ONLINE. The exact structure of the online experience (Zoom vs. Blackboard Collaborate and how class sessions will be structured) will vary by class and will be clarified by individual instructors either before or at the beginning of the semester. Some classes may have recorded components (asynchronous), but all will have live sessions (synchronous). Again, the exact structure will vary by class and you will be informed of the format by the instructor in each course. The department is looking forward to seeing all our majors again in the Fall, even if it'll be online. I hope you all are having a healthy and productive summer.
