The President has introduced several initiatives to help Hunter faculty engage students beyond the classroom.
The Co-curricular Activity Initiative funds student-faculty lunches, receptions, seminars, award ceremonies, film screenings, colloquia, and field trips.
The Student Presentation Initiative helps offset travel expenses for students who present their work at professional conferences attended with a faculty member. The initiative also funds faculty-sponsored student conferences held at Hunter.
The Student-Faculty Research Initiative supports students who take part with faculty members in research, scholarship, and creative projects. Since these initiatives were launched in 2007-08, grants totaling more than $50,000 have supported dozens of activities, including conferences on media, feminism, mathematics, and animal welfare, a model UN at Harvard, film screenings, dinners, and lectures.
