PSC-CUNY Research Award Program
PSC-CUNY Research Award Program was established as a major vehicle for the University's encouragement and support for faculty research and to leverage external funding. Guidelines and application forms are now available for the 41st annual competition. Funds are available to all permanent full-time faculty members of the instructional staff. Junior faculty members are particularly encouraged to apply. Scholar Incentive Awards
The purpose of Scholar Incentive Awards is to facilitate bona fide and documented scholarly research. Scholar Incentive Awards of not less than one semester nor more than one year are available to full-time personnel in the following titles: Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Instructor, Lecturer, University Professor, and Distinguished Professor. The amount of the award may be up to 25% of the candidate's annual salary. Candidates must have completed not less than one full year of continuous paid full-time service with CUNY before becoming eligible for a Scholar Incentive Award. A Scholar Incentive Award may not be held concurrently with a Fellowship Leave. Applications for 2010-2011 Scholar Incentive Awards are due to the candidate's Department Chairperson by December 4, 2009. Hunter College Auxiliary Enterprises Corporation (AEC) Funding
The Hunter College Auxiliary Enterprises Corporation (AEC) is now accepting applications for Fall 2009 – Spring 2010 college-related projects or activities that will benefit the Hunter College community. Projects may be directed by students, faculty, staff, or departments and proposals up to $3,500 will be considered. Examples of projects that the AEC will fund include extracurricular educational programs, cultural and social activities, assistance to chartered organizations, recreational and athletic programs, and enhancements of the College and University environment. The AEC does not fund refreshments or individual requests for travel. Deadline: October 1, 2009
CUNY Faculty Fellowship Publications Program
The University Office of Special Projects, Office of the Dean for Recruitment and Diversity sponsors the Faculty Fellowship Publications Program to assist full-time untenured CUNY junior faculty in the design and execution of scholarly writing projects essential to progress toward tenure. Faculty working on creative and non-traditional scholarship are welcome to apply. Selected faculty will receive 3 credit hours of reassigned time and participate in seminar-type meetings led by a senior-level faculty mentor at which their work will be discussed and reviewed. This year's program is limited to faculty from the following disciplines: Area and Ethnic Studies, Creative Writing, Film and Media, English, Humanities, Education, Social Sciences, Clinical Nursing, Sociology/Social Work, Sciences. CUNY Diversity Projects Development Fund
The Diversity Projects Development Fund was established by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Human Resource Management to support the development of educational projects, scholarly research, creative endeavors and professional activities that promote diversity, multiculturalism and non-discrimination. Full and part-time members of the University Instructional Staff may apply for grants up to a maximum of $5000. The Fund invites proposals in, but not limited to, the following areas: collaborative research among scholars within departments and/or between disciplines/instutitions within CUNY, programs to promote members of diverse populations, seminars/workshops/educational activities/scholarly research on topics related to diversity and/or multiculturalism, programs or projects that integrate the results of studies about underrepresented groups into the general curriculum.
