How to Apply
Eligibility
All Hunter College juniors and seniors are eligible to apply, regardless of major. To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:
- be within 45 credits of graduation when you start the program
- be enrolled as a student for the full academic year of the program
- have an overall GPA of at least 3.0
- submit two recommendations, at least one from a Hunter College faculty member
Participants are selected based on their motivation, leadership potential, maturity level, academic performance, communication skills and demonstrated interest in public service.
Application Process
Submit the 2013 application form with short essays on your interest in public service. Complete applications must include transcripts from all colleges you have attended and two (2) written recommendations, one from a Hunter College faculty member and one other professional or academic reference.
A select group of applicants will be invited to interview with the director. Final selections will be made after the interview process.
When to Apply
Rolling applications are accepted throughout the year. Students who wish to apply in the fall must ensure that we have their transcript(s) by the end of the fall semester.
The application deadline for the 2013-2014 academic year is Friday, March 8, 2013. No application for 2013-2014 will be accepted after this date.

Do you want to learn more about becoming a Public Service Scholar? Join us for an Information Session Wednesday, February 6, 2013 1:10-2:30 PM, Room W415. Current Public Service Scholars, the program director and staff will provide more detailed information and answer your questions.
