I am sad to report that Laurie Selman died on May 3, 2014 at home in Orlando, FL. Laurie was one of the co-founders of our Physical Therapy Program. In Laurie's obituary, his two sons and their families cited Laurie's co-founding role in the Hunter PT program and encouraged memorial contributions. He was highly regarded by his students and well known in the physical therapy community. Laurie remained the teacher until the end, instructing his care staff in their GED studies and encouraging all listeners to examine social and political issues of the day. The physical therapy program has been awarding a annual scholarship in honor of Robert Ayers and Laurie Selman to a third year student "in honor of Bob Ayers and Laurie Selman, founders of the Hunter College Physical Therapy Program. Award based upon scholarship and professional activities as determined by the full time Physical Therapy Faculty"
