Acceptance into the DPT Program
The DPT program will be capping enrollment to thirty-two students per year.
In the past three years, we have interviewed 100 - 125 of the top qualified applicants seeking admission. This included applicants with excellent letters of recommendation and GPAs between 3.0 - 4.0. We admitted students from both extremes of this applicant pool. We anticipate admissions to be competitive, but if you meet our requirements, we urge you to apply. However, in 2015 we had so many highly qualified applicants that we interviewed the top 125 with exceptional backgrounds combined with GPA's above 3.4. This year was atypical, but may speak to the trend of our applicants.
Please note that an interview is a meaningful component of the admissions procedure, and therefore overall GPA is not the sole factor for acceptance. If you have questions regarding your qualifications, or need to speak with an advisor, please call the Physical Therapy office at (212) 396-7103 (new #) or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Applicants will be contacted by the Physical Therapy Program by email, telephone, or USPS mail regarding scheduling of an interview.
Final decisions regarding admissions are submitted to the Office of Graduate Admissions. Students can monitor whether a decision is available by logging into their application. Once the decision is posted the Decisions link will appear on the bottom of their log-in page. In addition, an automatic e-mail notification is sent to the applicants email address on file. Be aware that since these are generated by the Admissions web based system, these emails may go into your Spam or Junk folder.
