Ongoing Clinical Investigations

Below is a listing of student/faculty research investigations ongoing in the Hunter College Physical Therapy Department. You may use this information for potentially referring subjects or to gain insight to the clinical research ongoing in our department.

The Effects of Median Nerve Mobilization in Patients With Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is an injury to the nerve in the wrist caused by increased pressure. Persons with CTS often complain of pain, numbness, tingling, burning, and difficulty with hand movement. The purpose of our research is to examine the effects of a common physical therapy treatment on reducing the symptoms in persons with CTS. Through these techniques, we anticipate to see a reversal of the progression of symptoms.
