This is a friendly reminder from the Office of the Dean of Students
regarding Hunter College's policy on using your OneCard while on campus
at Hunter College. These measures are in place for your own safety and
that of the Hunter community.
- All members of the college community are responsible for having their Hunter OneCard with them while on campus at all times.
- Your Hunter OneCard is non-transferrable and may not be used by any other person, for any reason.
- Allowing other persons to use your Hunter OneCard to gain entry on
to Hunter's campus or to use campus facilities is a violation of Hunter
College's policy and may result in that person receiving a summons for
Trespassing.
- Improper use of your Hunter ID may also result in your card being deactivated.
For more information about the One Card, please visit the One Card website.

Crime Log Information and Procedures: The Hunter College Department of Public Safety assigns a case number for all reportable activities, both criminal and non-criminal. Only case numbers generated for criminal activity are listed in the crime log. Crime log case numbers may not run sequentially. Crimes are in chronological order. The most recent crimes are at the top of the list. Hard copies of the Crime Logs are also available at the Public Safety desks of each Hunter campus, during normal business hours. The crime logs located at each campus will only provide the reported crimes at that particular location. Note: Incidents with a case number that start with “NA” involve information received from other college administrators, who are defined by federal law as “campus security authorities”. These administrators share non-identifying information with the Department of Public Safety that is provided by the victim. In these incidents, the victim did not file an official report with Public Safety and therefore, it is not always possible to provide information regarding the five areas typically covered in the Crime Log (i.e., Nature/Classification, Date Reported, Date Occurred, Time, On or Off Campus). Because an official report was not filed, there will be no disposition. These incidents are reported to the Department of Public Safety for statistical purposes and are posted to the Crime Log as the information is received by Public Safety. According to Federal Law, an institution may withhold any of the required fields of entry, i.e. the nature, date, time, location and/or disposition if any of the following conditions apply: (1) The disclosure is prohibited by law, (2) If disclosure would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim, (3) If disclosure would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or the safety of an individual, (4) If disclosure would cause a suspect to flee or evade detection, or (5) If disclosure would result in the destruction of evidence.
