The Department of Romance Languages at Hunter College offers numerous opportunities for students to participate in the academic life of Hunter College and New York City.  We hold an annual Poetry Reading event widely attended by faculty and students, a Foreign Language Film Festival which attracts international figures of the film world, the Dante Club, with monthly meetings to discuss the works of The Divine Comedy's author, the Academia Literaria which fosters the study of Spanish language and cultures in the university community and the Revista de la Academia, a student journal that just commemorated its 35th anniversary. The department also hosts a Prizes and Awards ceremony which celebrates the achievements of our students.
