I received my B.A. from the University of Havana, my M. A. from the Université de Cergy-Pontoise, in France, and my PhD from the Graduate Center, The City University of New York (CUNY). I also hold an Interdisciplinary Certificate in Renaissance Studies from the Graduate Center (CUNY). My research interests revolve around translation of texts and ideas across cultural divides within the European Republic of Letters of the 16th and 17th centuries. My major ongoing research projects on Early Modern Literature in Spain and France focus on Translation Studies and the intersection of Literature, Historiography and Biography in 16th and 17th-century Europe.
