Program Description: Take six credits in Spanish language or literature at the Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, one of the most prestigious in Argentina. The small classes are staffed with one instructor and several local student-assistants (students in the Humanities Division of the same university), who will take you to exciting places in order to practice conversation, get you acquainted with the local culture and make you feel at home.
Credits offered: 6 Credits (CUNY tuition not included)
Application Deadline: Students applying for STOCS - October 2 / Other Students- October 23
Financial Aid: PELL, STOCS, student loans, Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship
Program Fee: $1800 (estimate) includes housing with breakfast, excursions, insurance and New Year's Eve party. Airfare not included.
Payment Schedule: $350 due with application. Balance due November 13. All payments by certified check or money order.
Prerequisite: Spanish 101 or equivalent

Tango classes: (optional) Register in Mar del Plata
Visits and Excursions: Capital City of Buenos Aires (three days), City of Mar del Plata and surrounding countryside. Life at the Pampas: farming and cattle raising, horseback riding, Creole barbecue, country games, country and gaucho museum. The sea: sea sports, boating, swimming. Argentina's cultural life: shows, theatre, and cinema.
