Field and Clinical Experiences
Fieldwork hours are designed to improve students’ observational and instructional skills in preparation for student teaching and practicum experiences. The courses listed below will require completion of fieldwork hours. The course instructor will provide guidelines for the field
All fieldwork will take place in a Hunter College selected site. A guidebook of cooperating schools will help our students to find placement for their fieldwork hours. Students in CEDC 715FW, however, will be placed by the Fieldwork Coordinator in a school for this requirement.
Student Teaching and Practicum
Students in the M.S. in Childhood Education program must complete intensive supervised classroom experiences in grades 1-3 and 4-6. Depending on the students situation, this requirement can be satisfied in one of three ways:
