Combined Rehabilitation Teachers (RT)/Orientation and Mobility Master’s Degree Program

The 52-credit Hybrid Distance Learning Combined RT/O&M Master’s Degree program prepares students as both vision rehabilitation therapists (VRTs) and O&M specialists. Graduates are eligible for certification through The Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP). Students are admitted only in Fall semester.

Program Description

The 52-credit Hybrid Distance Learning Combined RT/O&M Master’s Degree program prepares students as both vision rehabilitation therapists (VRTs) and O&M specialists. Graduates are eligible for certification through The Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP). Students are admitted only in Fall semesters.

Fall and Spring Courses

All Fall and Spring courses follow the academic calendar and are designed to accommodate students who lives outside the New York Metropolitan area via distance education. Students need high-speed internet access and webcameras to access course content.

On Campus Requirements

All students are required to attend on campus O&M/RT labs for two weeks in two consecutive summers. Low cost room and board are available.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet Hunter Graduate Admissions eligibility criteria including an undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.8 or better from an accredited institution or a Master’s GPA of 3.5 or higher.
