The Hunter College Master’s Degree program in Rehabilitation Teaching is supported by Hunter College in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Education Rehabilitation Services Administration. 

Program Description

The 40-credit Hybrid Distance Learning RT Master’s Degree program prepares vision rehabilitation therapists (VRTs). Graduates are eligible for certification through The Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP). Students are admitted only in Fall semesters.

Fall and Spring Courses

All Fall and Spring courses follow the academic calendar and are designed to accommodate students who lives outside the New York Metropolitan area via distance education. Students need high-speed internet access and webcameras to access course content.

On Campus Requirement

This program requires students to attend a VRT lab/seminar course session for two weeks in the summer. Low cost room and board are available.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet Hunter Graduate Admissions eligibility criteria including an undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better from an accredited institution or a Master’s GPA of 3.5 or higher.
