Specialized Additional Certificates

Specialized Additional Certificates (SACs) are designed for working teachers and other professionals who already hold a master's degree and want to expand their qualifications or become certified in a specialized area. Hunter has a history of excellence in teacher professional development and further education, and in the current job market, it is crucial for teachers to have both deeper and broader skills to be more effective and successful in an increasingly diverse classroom.

Our advanced certificate programs are designed to give exceptional teachers the ability to enhance your professional skills so that you can stand out further - earning salary increases, making yourself more marketable and/or hirable, and ultimately supporting you in becoming the teacher leaders you want to be.

These programs are not eligible for federal financial aid.

The School of Education has two distinct Post-master’s programs in TESOL. Program 2 is the program for current teachers who have a NYS initial certification in one of the following areas: early childhood, childhood, middle childhood, or adolescent education; special subjects; students with disabilities; or literacy. Program 2 is offered in both online and onsite format.
