Overview
BA and BA/MA Programs in Adolescent Education, Chemistry Grades 7-12
The BA and BA/MA programs in Adolescent Chemistry lead to initial certification as a teacher. Graduates from the BA/MA program in Adolescent Chemistry are eligible for professional certification after three years of teaching experience. Both programs include fieldwork in New York City public schools. Students must take a specified sequence of education courses in addition to fulfilling the General Education Requirement (GER) and the requirements of their major. BA/MA students also take 14 graduate credits in chemistry.
Adolescent Education is a 26-credit course of study that students usually complete over four semesters.
