AmeriCorps logoOverview

Hunter College is thrilled to have received funding from AmeriCorps to support our Teacher U program.  AmeriCorps is a network of local, state, and national service programs that connects more than 70,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet critical community needs.

Becoming an AmeriCorps member is an opportunity to make a difference in your life and in the lives of those around you.  As an AmeriCorps member, you’ll gain new skills and experiences—and you’ll also find the tremendous satisfaction that comes from helping others.  In addition, members who successfully complete their service earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $4,725, which you may use to finance your Hunter coursework or for other educational expenses.  AmeriCorps members may also be eligible for loan forbearance and interest repayment.
