Internships
The Hunter College
Center for Community and Urban Health offers internships with varied
responsibilities on different interventions, trainings, and research
projects. The internship experience puts students in real-world research
settings and provides them with an opportunity to gain quantitative
and/or qualitative analytic skills; to understand data management,
program development and implementation, and evaluation; and exposes
them to the broad field of urban public health. In the past, interns
have conducted street outreach to recruit eligible participants for
research projects, have inputted and analyzed data, and have assisted
with trainings and workshops. Several interns have produced presentations,
or co-authored articles or reports. As an academically-affiliated
Center, we are committed to advancing careers and skills. If you would
like to apply for an internship at the Center, please send a letter
of interest and a copy of your current resume to Shawn McGinniss,
Administrative Coordinator, at shawn.mcginniss@hunter.cuny.edu.
Your materials will be reviewed, and he will contact you when an
appropriate opportunity arises.
