Computer Assisted Instruction & State Board Testing Preparation

The HPEC features hundreds of health-related, computer-assisted instructional packages (CAI's), interactive video discs (IVD's), and multimedia CD-ROM's. Our staff works closely with students in the use of these resources - especially prior to licensing or certification exams. The center also supports faculty and students from the chemistry and biology departments providing a large array of models, audio-visual and computing aides.

Computer Reserve Policy:
Computers are available to students by reservation.
Students may reserve a timeslot up to two weeks prior to their viewing session.
One session consists of a two hour time-block. Consecutive time-blocks are not permitted.

State Board Preparation Materials:

The HPEC assists students in their preparation for their State Board tests by administering a number of commercially produced practice tests in all major disciplines.

Certification Practice Examinations are available in the following areas:

• Registered Examination for Dieticians
• American Board of Industrial Hygienist Certification Examination
• American Society of Clinical Pathologists Certification Examination for Medical Laboratory Technicians or Histologists
• Comprehensive Physical Therapist Licensure Examination
• Praxis Examination in Audiology or Speech Language Pathology
• National Council of State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN)
