Elective
Courses/Independent Study (9 credits)
Elective topics are offered cyclically, and usually have a course
number beginning with 770.xx (PH 770.05). Due to the cyclical nature,
students are encouraged to take electives of interest within the semester
offered if any stated prerequisites are met. Students may also take
elective within other Hunter College departments, at the CUNY Graduate
Center, or exterior to CUNY, based on faculty advisor permission.
Select students who have a particular focus or research or study may
pursue independent study upon advisor approval.
Capstone
seminar - generally in conjunction with Comhe 737.02
Course
sequencing &
academic standing
PH courses: PH
710 serves as a co- or prerequisite to the Comhe course and should
be taken the first semester of study. PH 740 should be taken the last
semester or last year of study.
Comhe courses: Comhe courses are designed to be sequential;
each course serves a a prerequisite to the following course. Students
should take Comhe 750 within the first semester or first year of study.
MPH students must
maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to remain in good academic
standing. Students who are at risk of falling below 3.0 should communicate
as early as possible with their department faculty advisor.
