The Interview Process

This past year, we interviewed all qualified applicants seeking admission.

Please note that an interview is a meaningful component of the admissions procedure, and therefore overall GPA is not the sole factor for acceptance. If you have questions regarding your qualifications, or need to speak with an advisor, please contact the Communication Sciences office. Applicants will be contacted by the COMSCI Program, by email or USPS mail, regarding scheduling of an interview.

This year, we instituted rolling admissions. Applicants with strong qualifications were interviewed immediately after the deadline of February 1st, and approximately 50% of the seats available were distributed amongst these applicants. Therefore, if Hunter College is your first choice, we recommend you apply early, get your transcripts, letters of recommendation and clinical experience forms submitted as soon as feasible before February 1st, and please notify the COMSCI program in writing that Hunter is your first choice. We will give some priority to scheduling interviews and institute rolling admissions for some of these applicants. However, all seats will not filled until all interviews had been completed.
