Dr. Peggy Ann Schuber, RN, is an Assistant Professor of Community Health Nursing. She has taught the following courses during the past two years while faculty with UNLV:

Dr. Schuber also leads multiple community site experiences for undergraduate nursing students.
Dr. Schuber’s research focus is the area of cancer prevention. She has been involved with research efforts in cancer prevention since 1992. She is particularly interested in cancer patients’ and the public’s views about taking part in cancer prevention research. Dr. Schuber has enhanced skills in psychometric measurement, ethnography, health survey research, health services research, and population sciences. She received a Nevada Collaborative Research Award from the Nevada Cancer Institute in 2006 where she is studying multi-ethnic views about participating in cancer research within qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Dr. Schuber serves as Secretary on the Academic Affairs Council in the School of Nursing. She is a member of the UNLV Faculty Senate Academic Freedom & Ethics Committee. Her professional service includes membership with the Nevada Cancer Council where she serves on the Clinical Trials Sub-Committee and the Cancer Screening and Detection Sub-Committee. She is a member of the 2007 Item-Writing Panel of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. She holds current memberships in the following professional organizations: Sigma Theta Tau, National League for Nursing, Oncology Nursing Society, American Public Health Association, and AcademyHealth.
