Resident Hall Living
When you move into the Residence Hall, you will join a unique, education-centered community. All residents are encouraged to explore new learning opportunities and new relationships, to get involved, and to demonstrate a concern & respect for the needs of others.
Costs
The housing fee for the 2007-2008 school year ranges from $1390 - $1493 per semester. There is a refundable $150 security deposit.
Food
There is no meal plan. Kitchens are located on each floor and there is a small café on the first floor where students can buy light meals and snacks.
Transportation
A shuttle bus travels from the Residence Hall to Hunter’s main campus. It operates on an hourly schedule on weekdays and weekday evenings.
Eligibility
Only students who are enrolled FULL-TIME at Hunter are eligible to live in the Residence Hall. Undergraduates must enroll in, and maintain, a full-time course load of 12 credit hours; graduate students must maintain a course load of 9 credit hours.
Are Rooms Guaranteed?
No. Housing space at Hunter is severely limited. We have only one residence hall which houses 612 students, and Hunter’s student population is around 20,000. We will receive many more requests than we can accommodate. We encourage you to apply, but we also recommend that you explore other housing options. Priority is given to New York residents.
Rooms and Furnishings
All of the rooms at Hunter’s residence hall are small single-occupancy rooms, and are furnished with a single bed, dresser, desk and desk chair. Residents share common bathrooms, showers and kitchen facilities, which are located on each floor. The building accommodates males and females on separate floors or wings. There are also a limited number of small apartments for graduate students ONLY. These apartments include bedroom furnishings, but they also contain a private or semi-private bathroom. No living room furniture is included. A shared kitchen is located in the hallway.
