Curriculum & Courses

Public health nutrition instruction incorporates comprehensive training in nutritional science, dietetics and community nutrition as well as traditional public health disciplines such as biostatistics, epidemiology, health services administration, Community Health Education, Maternal and Child Health and Aging and Environmental and Occupational Health Science.

The unique MPH degree program with a specialization in public health nutrition is designed for individuals who want to develop the skills necessary for advancement in a radically changed health care environment. The program focuses on nutrition for vulnerable groups in urban settings. The curriculum reflects the changing demographics of metropolitan New York and the communications revolution, as well as cutting-edge research in nutrition and food sciences. Up to 12 credits of the 48-credit MPH curriculum may be waived for those with demonstrated mastery of specific skills, as documented by the MD, RD or other relevant professional credentials.
