Residency Determination
Applicants who are not residents of New York State are subject to the nonresident tuition rates. Applicants who are US citizens or permanent residents and who have continuously maintained their place of abode in the State of New York for a period of at least twelve consecutive months immediately preceding the first day of classes may qualify for the resident tuition rate. Inquiries regarding residency requirements and determinations should be directed to the Office of Admissions

* Students enrolled in the Dietetic Internship ONLY are registered for 6 credits/semester and pay per credit. Although the student is considered full-time by the Dietetic Internship program, the student is considered part-time by the registrar for calculation of tuition.

Students must pay tuition and fees in full at the time of registration. Without full payment students will not be considered registered and will not be admitted to class.

Financial arrangements for the payment of tuition and fees must be made by the student prior to registration. Information on grants, scholarships and loans can be found in the Graduate Catalog. Applicants are encouraged to apply for ADAF scholarships. Information about ADAF scholarships can be found at http://webdietitians.org.

In addition to tuition and fees, it is the responsibility of each dietetic intern to pay for the following prior to or during the 9-month Dietetic Internship Program: medical and professional insurance/coverage, fingerprinting fees, required learning resources, and membership in professional organizations (the fee for Associate membership in the ADA is currently $42 and the fee for student membership in the Greater New York Dietetic Association is currently $20).

Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from assigned sites. Whenever possible, practice sites have been selected which are easily accessible by public transportation and are in relatively safe neighborhoods.

Successful applicants pay a non-refundable deposit of $150 when accepting the internship appointment. This fee is credited towards program costs and other items required by the dietetic internship program.

Financial Aid
Hunter College participates in all Federal and State Student Financial Aid Programs. Financial aid is available to full and part time matriculated* students registered for at least 6 credits. Students who want to apply for financial aid must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

A FAFSA Application is also available on the Web (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov). Students may also visit the web site for Hunter College's Office of Financial Aid at http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/finaid for more information about applying for financial aid.

*NOTE: Non-matriculated students may not be eligible for federal financial aid. In order to become eligible, students must apply and be accepted into the MPH program as a matriculated student (see 'Combined Masters in Public Health/Dietetic Internship Program' ).
