Visual Media, Technology & Health
In 2007, HBO launched a documentary series called “Addiction,” as a joint project with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Institute of Drug Addiction (NIDA). The series presents a strong message that drug addiction is “a brain disease.”  In this course, students will 1)  learn how to engage in a critical of dominant, corporate-media broadcast discourses of health, illness and the body, and 2) acquire hands-on training in making their own short, health-focused digital video.
Dates & Times: Course meets Jan 17, 18, 22, 23 & 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m at 68th Street campus, Rm 1001B HN. Because this is a hands-on class, attendance is mandatory.
