What's Next?

In your acceptance email, you should have received a link to your MyChoice page.

Your next steps will be to: verify financial eligibility; commit to the Summer Bridge Program; commit to Hunter College; and schedule and take the Compass Math Placement Test. Additionally, you must submit proof of immunization before enrolling in your fall courses.

  • Financial Aid Verification
    After you have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), please be prepared to submit copies of the following documents to the Office of Financial Aid, Room 241 North Building.
    • Federal Tax Forms & W-2
    • Public Assistance Budgets
    • Social Security Benefits
    • Veteran Benefits
    • Unemployment Benefits
    • Additional Income
    • Social Security Card
    • Front and Back of Alien Registration Card (if applicable)
    • Naturalization Certificate/ Signed U.S. Passport (if applicable)

 

  • Commit to attending the SEEK Summer Bridge Program
    The SEEK Summer Bridge Program is a mandatory five-week, non-residential program for incoming SEEK participants. During the summer prior to their first academic year at Hunter College, summer participants take non-credit-bearing introductory courses in English, Writing, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Participants attend weekly skill-building workshops, daily tutorials, several cultural events, (i.e., museums) and team-building exercises, in order to prepare for the rigorous academic work required of matriculated Hunter College students.   • Commit to Hunter College
    Once you have committed to Hunter College, it is important that you schedule and take your COMPASS Math Placement Test and fulfill your immunization requirement.

 

  • COMPASS Math Placement Test
    All Hunter students are required to take the COMPASS Math Placement Test, which is an untimed, multiple choice, computer-based exam composed of four sections: Pre- Algebra, Algebra, College Algebra, and Trigonometry. Students can schedule to take the COMPASS Math Placement Test via their MyChoice.

    For updated information on the COMPASS Math Placement Test schedule, check the online calendar or email the Hunter College Testing Centerat testing@hunter.cuny.edu.

    You may also be required to take CUNY Assessment Test to demonstrate proficiency in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. Students that meet CUNY proficiency skills requirements based on SAT, ACT, or NY State Regents test scores will be exempted from the CUNY Assessment Test.

 

  • Immunization Requirement
    In order to register for classes, you must show proof of immunization against Measles, Mumps, and Rubella and indicate receipt of meningitis information. You will not be permitted to register until you submit this proof to Hunter College's Office of Health Services. You may submit your vaccination card or a completed immunization form to the Office of Health Services, Room 307 in the North Building. (212) 772 – 4800.

 

  • Fall Registration
    The SEEK Program staff will contact you via email to invite you to attend a Course Planning and Registration Workshop in June. SEEK Counseling Faculty and Staff will guide you through the course selecting process and in enrolling for your fall courses.
