The SEEK Ambassador Program is an interactive program for SEEK participants. The mission of the program is to broaden opportunities for SEEK participants to become self-directed and confident in their leadership abilities; to improve their abilities to work effectively within student organizations; and to gain valuable life skills that are transferable beyond life at Hunter College. SEEK Ambassadors promote the Percy Ellis Sutton SEEK Program at Hunter College both on and off campus. The SEEK Ambassador Program is designed to help aspiring leaders navigate the challenge of student leadership and beyond. The Program will ideally contribute to a lifelong pursuit of leadership development and accomplishment.
The SEEK Ambassador Program aims to create a personal development environment where participants can grow in their leadership competence through a range of modalities, such as individual reflection, group experience, applying developmental tools and information resources. The program includes skill building workshops, seminars, leadership retreats and conferences.
Throughout the program, the SEEK Ambassadors contribute and interact positively and persuasively with prospective SEEK students and prospective SEEK Ambassador Program participants. SEEK Ambassadors lead campus tours, assist with organized events and functions and communicate with prospective students via email and/or phone.
The Program offers many advantages, among them:
- Exclusive workshops that provide a foundation of leadership and personal development knowledge to help participants transition from high school to college and beyond;
- Relationships with fellow SEEK Ambassadors, prospective SEEK student participants, SEEK student community, and key administrators, staff and faculty; and
- Opportunities to mentor other developing leaders and help coordinate future SEEK Ambassador Programs.
