Office of Research and Grant Support
All Things Research
ORGS was founded in 2003 by former Schools of the Health Professions Dean Laurie Sherwen to assist faculty in the Schools of Nursing and Health Sciences to apply for research funding and to provide them with valuable resources for managing existing research projects. Its bundled assortment of services resemble a "one-stop-shop" for all things research. Our services are meant to meet the needs of today's demanding research environment—providing critical research technologies with troubleshooting support, personalized consultation and planning with knowledgable staff, and time-tested best practices for navigating the changing landscapes of grantwriting on the federal, state, city, and private levels.
In addition to helping faculty apply for external funding, ORGS also provides faculty with internal awards for poster production, seed money for pilot projects and scholarly research, professional development, and preparing larger, externally funded grant and contract applications.
Beginning with the 2006-2007 academic year, with the support of Dean Laurie Sherwen, ORGS has hosted an annual Research Day conference, an event which showcases the work of health professions graduate students, undergraduate students, faculty and staff.
There is much more to come, further placing ORGS into the heart of "all things research." Read more about our services to see what ORGS can do for you.
