Prerequisites

  1. A total of 60 credits completed by the end of the semester of application
  2. Successful completion Biology 100 or 102 or equivalent college-level biology with lab. (Transfer equivalents for Biology 100/102 must be approved by the Biology Department in writing.)
  3. Successful completion of Stat 113 or equivalent.
  4. Overall GPA of 2.5 or better (from all post-secondary institutions).

IMPORTANT!
It is strongly recommended that students include in their preparation for the major the following courses:

COMHE 200: Controversies and Issues in Health Care
This course has no prerequisites. It may be applied as one of the social science electives in key area IV. (Social science electives.)

BIOL 120 or 120: Anatomy & Physiology I or II
This human biology course must be taken in addition to BIOL 100: Principles of Biology I, as a prerequisite to COMHE 420, which will be taken the senior year of the major. Only BIOL 100 needs to be completed before acceptance to the major.
