Applicants
who have taken courses at another college must request an evaluation
of transfer credits and submit a credit transfer request form. The
evaluation is done through the Office
of Admissions, NOT The School of Health Sciences. All approved
transfer credits must have a Hunter course equivlent except for courses
used as Hunter "Open Electives". Check with Admissions
or Academic
Advising to determine the status of all courses taken at other
colleges or universities. The student alone cannot decide the final
status of his or her transfer credits or equivalents.
College
courses taken elsewhere may meet Hunter entrance conditions, but may
not necessarily have Hunter equivalents that satisfy degree requirements.
Credit values for courses taken elsewhere need not be equal to Hunter
courses. A four credit course at one institution will be granted three
credits if deemed equivalent to a course offered at Hunter for three
credits. Ideally, applicants should have a course description or syllabus
for courses they wish to transfer.
Current
or former CUNY transfer students may visit the CUNY course equivalency
website to determine if their course has a Hunter equivlent: tipps.cuny.edu
Non-CUNY
students may inquire at their college if the course typically transfers
to a four year college. Be sure it will not transfer as elective credits,
but as an equivalent course at a four year college.
If
the transfer course is to serve as a prerequisite to the COMHE major
and is not deemed to have a Hunter equivalent, email Prof. Rolland
to request her review of the course syllabus or description.
