Prerequisites

Students enter in the Fall Semester on a full-time or part-time basis.

Students must have earned 60 credits (highly recommended that Hunter College Distribution Requirements be completed) and must have the following:

Science Prerequisites: (All with a grade of C or better)
-Two semesters of anatomy and physiology with lab;
-One semester of general chemistry with lab;
-One semester of organic chemistry with lab;
-One semester of biochemistry;
-One semester of microbiology with lab;

Nutrition and Food Science Prerequisites: (Both with a grade of B or better)
-One semester of introductory food science;
-One semester of introductory nutrition.

* Have a minimum GPA of 2.8 (the competitive nature of the applicant pool and small size of  the incoming class,usually dictate a higher GPA requirement).

Students apply for admission into the Nutrition and Food Science major using the CUNY Transfer Application.
