President's Message
Dear all Alpha Phi members and Friends,
I have been honored to serve as president of the chapter for the past two
years and look forward to completing my term of office in June 2008. Mr.
Manuel Co Jr., President-Elect of the chapter, will take over the reins at our 2008 “turnover” meeting.
The 39th Biennial Convention will be held in November 2007 in Baltimore Maryland. Our chapter is sponsoring the tote bags that will be carried by all attendees. The theme of the convention is Global health through collaboration.
Alpha Phi chapter will be supporting this mission in the coming year. Members of the chapter, along with graduate nursing students and NPs, will be traveling to the Dominican Republic to provide direct medical and nursing care in poverty areas. A six day trip is scheduled for January 2008. We hope to make this an ongoing service project.
Some dates to save for the coming year:
Our annual meeting is scheduled for January 31, 2008 with a “snow date” of February 7, 2008. All members are invited to attend. The yearly induction ceremony will be April 10, 2008 in the auditorium. We always need assistance with induction. If you can be part of the team, please let us know by calling us at (212) 481-4454.
