Admissions Requirements for New Tracks

Admissions requirements for the HPM track: In addition to the general admission requirements for the MPH program, HPM applicants are expected to have at least 3 undergraduate or graduate courses (9 credits) in one or more of the following disciplines: economics, accounting, business administration, public policy, urban affairs and political science.

Admissions requirements for the EPI-BIOS track: In addition to the general admission requirements for the MPH program, EPI-BIOS applicants:

a.) are expected to demonstrate evidence of quantitative abilities – such as college level algebra with a grade of B or better; ≥550 on quantitative and ≥4.5 on analytical portions of the GREs; or similar evidence of quantitative abilities;

b.) have at least one year of paid or volunteer work experience in public health research or a related field.



Admissions Requirements for All MPH Tracks

Hunter College Admissions Requirements for Graduate Students in all MPH Tracks are the same. An applicant for graduate admission is expected to hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.. In addition, each applicant is expected, at a minimum, to have a "B" average (3.0 GPA) for courses in the area of specialization, an overall "B minus" average (2.8 GPA) for the baccalaureate, and a "B" average (3.0) for any courses taken on the graduate level. The application package consists of:

* Hunter Graduate Admissions Application
*Personal statement
*Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions
*Three letters of recommendation - academic (preferred) and/ or professional
*Graduate Record Exam (GRE) - waived for appliants with an advanced degree from a U.S. based college or university. GMAT's are not accepted in lieu of the GRE. TOEFL exam required for those whose native language is not English. Contact Admissions for questions related to the TOEFL requirement.
