Robert Carter

R. CarterRobert Carter received his B.A. from Howard University after a stint studying Theology at a Baptist University. His M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees are from Columbia University. His areas of interest are Law, Social Theory, Social Policy, Religion, Race and Ethnic Relations. He currently teaches Law and Society and Social Theory, as well as an Introduction to Sociology. His research interest revolves around the relationship between formal legality and substantive injustice in modern American society. His publications have appeared in an edited volume and in Sociological Inquiry. He recently served as Affirmative Action Officer and Special Assistant to the President of Hunter College.
