Major Requirements
- 30 credits in sociology, including Soc 101
- Both theory courses (Soc 221 and Soc 223)
- Basic Research Methods (Soc 240)
- Social Statistics (Soc 241)
- Six credits of upper level sociology courses (300/400)
- Nine credits in any level
Courses cannot be used more than once to fulfill major requirements. Check with the departmental advisors for up to date information.
Students also have the option of focusing their studies in one of our department’s Areas of Concentration, although they are not required to do so. These seven areas were selected on the basis of our faculty members’ research expertise and the depth of course offerings available.
