The Silberman SSW is extremely proud of its talented alumni. Over 90% of our alumni have remained in New York City and its environs to populate the social work workforce. The School counts among its graduates some of the leading social workers in child welfare, mental health, health services to older adults, and services to refugees and immigrant communities. We lead the city in producing group workers and community organizers for practice. Many graduates work in government, on the staff of local politicians, and in advocacy organizations. There is hardly an organization or human service agency without its cadre of fine Silberman-trained social workers. Many of our MSW graduates return as field instructors, teach, or enroll in our Ph.D. program.
Graduating students become Silberman Alumni. Silberman Alumni are entitled to many benefits: an identification card entitles them to free use of the Hunter College libraries; the opportunity to participate in our licensing preparation courses; admission to the Silberman SSW Facebook page; Linkedin group; invitations to our alumni lectures and activities, our online alumni eNewsletter, which includes information about the School, faculty, fellow alumni, and other subjects of interest to social workers.
