The School of Social Work Academic Calendar includes dates of holidays, activities, classes and other events pertinent to students, faculty and field instructors of the School. It also includes all deadline dates for the Registrar and Bursar. Please familiarize yourself with these deadlines and note that the School will strictly follow the deadlines listed.

FALL SEMESTER 2007

Thursday, August 9	Non-Matriculated Student Advisement, 10-11AM, 6-7 PM Room TBA
Monday-Thursday, August 20-23	Solutions Week-HCSSW staff available from 3-7PM to assist with enrollment and other problems on an as needed basis-Welcome Center in the Lobby
Sunday, August 26	Last day for refund of 100% tuition – Fall 2008 Semester
Monday & Tuesday, August 27 & 28	ORIENTATION FOR ALL INCOMING STUDENTS, Monday, August 27 9:15 AM-5:15PM Tuesday, August 28 11 AM-5:15 PM NO CLASSES FOR MATRICULATED STUDENTS
Monday, August 27	CLASSES BEGIN FOR NON-MATRICULATE STUDENTS - Fall 2008
Monday, August 27- Friday August 31	Late registration – Fee $25 and Change of Program – Fee $18 per course changed
Tuesday, August 28	Classes Excused for Orientation. All Incoming OYR, First Year and Advanced Standing required to attend. Second Year and OYR TF III students excused.
Wednesday, August 29	CLASSES BEGIN FOR MATRICULATED STUDENTS

*SEPTEMBER 2007*
Sunday, September 2	Last day for 75% tuition refund.
Monday, September 3	Labor Day - College is closed
Tues, Wed, Thurs or Fri, September 4-7	(1) First sessions of Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) as per registration (2) Time Frame II OYR Field Work Orientation, 1-2 PM. Students are required to attend on the day they are scheduled in school
Wednesday, September 5	Orientation for First Year Students TBA
Friday, September 7	(1) First Year and Advanced Standing Field Work Orientation, 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. (2) Second Year Students meet with Advisors, 1-2 PM
Wednesday, September 13	Last day for a 50% tuition refund
Sunday, September 9	Last day for 50% refund
Wednesday, September 12 through Friday, September 14	No classes scheduled.
Sunday, September 16	Last day for 25% refund. Last day to drop a course (delete from record) Fall 2007 Semester.
Monday, September 17	First day of Field Practicum – all programs
Friday & Sat., September 21–22	No classes scheduled
Monday, September 24	Annual Field Instructor’s Breakfast: Meet the Dean and the Practice Method faculty. All Field Instructors invited. 9:00 a.m. to noon.

*OCTOBER 2007*
Monday, October 1	OYR TF IIIs and others: Due date to submit certification in support of degree for Fall 2007 graduation. Certifications received after the deadline date will be considered late and will be processed in the order received by the Office of the Registrar.
Wednesday, October 24	Common Day – all students in field are required to attend. OYR TF II students attend if scheduled day in school
Thursday, October 25	Last day for all students to withdraw with a grade of "W" Fall 2007 Semester.

*NOVEMBER 2007*
Wednesday, November 14	Evaluation Workshop. All field instructors invited to attend.
Thursday, Nov 22- Fri Nov 23	Thanksgiving Recess – School is closed; no Saturday classes; no field practicum++
Tuesday, November 27	Common Day – all students in the field are required to attend OYR TFII students attend if this is a scheduled day in school ^^

*DECEMBER 2007*
Wednesday, December 12	Last day of classes for the Fall 2007 semester
Monday, December 24 & Tuesday, December 25	College is closed
Monday, December 24 - Tuesday, January 1	Winter Recess for all students; no field practicum
Monday, December 31	College is closed

*JANUARY 2008*
Tuesday, January 1	(1) Last day for refund of 100% tuition – Winter 2008 session (2) College is closed
Wednesday, January 2	Classes begin – Winter session 2008 All students return to placement to resume fall semester Late registration – Fee $25 and Change of Program – Fee $18 per course changed
Friday, January 4	(1) Last Day for 50% Refund – Winter session 2008 (2) Fall semester field practicum evaluations due
Wednesday, January 9	Last day for 25% Refund – Winter Session 2008
Thursday, January 10	Last day for students to withdraw with a grade of "W" for Winter session 2008
Friday, January 11	Fall semester of field work ends
TBA	Government Benefits Workshop, All First Year and OYR TFI & all those who have not attended in prior year are required to attend

Friday, January 25	Classes begin - Spring 2008 Late registration – Fee $25 and Change of Program – Fee $18 per course - 1/25 – 1/31
Thursday, January 31	(1) Last Day for 75% refund. (2) Field Placement Planning Meeting – all first year students (two year program) required to attend, 1:00 to 2:00 p.m..

*FEBRUARY 2008*
Monday, February 4	Field Placement Fair First year students excused from placement in the afternoon to attend.
Thursday, February 7	Last Day for 50% refund
Tuesday, February 12	Lincoln’s Birthday observed– School is closed**
Thursday, February 14	Last Day for 25% refund. Last day to drop a course (delete from record) Spring 2008
Monday, February 18	President’s Day – School is closed**
Thursday, February 28	(a) Common Day – required of all students in the field. OYR TFII students if this is a regularly scheduled day in school ^^ (b) Last day to submit certification in support of degree for Spring 2008 graduation. Certifications received after the deadline date will be considered late and will be processed in the order received by the Office of the Registrar. (c) Last day for appeal of earned grades and "WU" for Fall 2007

Saturday, April 19 -Sunday, April 27	Spring Recess. No practicum for two year program students. OYR TFII students and Bank Street Dual Degree program students follow agency schedule.++* No Saturday classes
