Current Research

  • Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) (Co-PI)
    A trauma-informed after-school and summer program for at-risk youth in East Harlem funded by the HHS Office of Minority Health and run in conjunction with Union Settlement Association. The program aims to reduce risk for sexual health issues, substance use and violence while increasing positive health related choices, academic success and commitment to higher education.

  • National Resource Center for Permanency and Family Connections (Program Evaluator)
    Housed at the Silberman School of Social Work the NRCPFC provides training, technical assistance and information services to help strengthen the capacity of State, local, Tribal and other publicly administered or supported child welfare agencies to: institutionalize a safety-focused, family-centered, and community-based approach to meet the needs of children, youth and families. The National Resource Center for Permanency and Family Connections is a service of the Children’s Bureau – ACF/DHHS and member of the T&TA Network. Click here for more information.

  • National Alliance on Mental Illness mental health literacy project (Co-PI)
    This project is a collaboration between the Silberman School of Social Work, the CUNY school of Public Health and NAMI to explore mental health literacy and the most effective means of communicating information related to the new mental health parity laws.
