  • Family Decision Making Among Older Caregiver Dyads Living with Early–Stage Dementia
    The goal of this study is to investigate family communication and decision-making processes in older familial caregiving dyads following diagnosis with Mild Cognitive Impairment.

  • An Innovative Model of Diabetes Self-Management Education/Training to Improve Access, Availability, & Quality of Care for Older Adults
    This project is to establish and evaluate an innovative Diabetes Care and Lifestyle Center (DCLC) for older adults and their families, featuring interdisciplinary psychosocial care and a diabetes self-management education/training program (DSME/T). The DCLC aims to increase access to high-quality diabetes care and self-management skills among underserved elders in New York City."

  • Fellowship in Palliative and End-of-Life Care
    The goal of this training program is to implement and evaluate a program that trains and fosters professional development in social workers interested in careers in palliative care with older adults and their families. The Fellowship provides specialized training, field placement, and mentoring in palliative care for students during the second year of their MSW studies and for two years post-graduation.

  • Leadership in Palliative and End-of-Life Care
    The goal of this post-graduate training and mentorship program is to develop, implement, and evaluate a program to foster advanced leadership and professional development to mid-career social workers in palliative care. The program aims, in particular, to enhance social work capacity in palliative care with underserved older adults and their families.

  • Carelink-Collaborating for Excellence in Geriatric Home Care
    This continuation grant further develops and evaluates the CareLink project, a multidisciplinary training program that provides community-based, interdisciplinary health and mental health care to elders in their own homes. The program, an agency-academic collaboration between the Visiting Nurse Association of NY and the NYU College of Nursing, places nursing and social work students in NORCs and community centers to enhance assessment, preventive health and mental healthcare, and community-level resources in order to promote aging-in-place in the five boroughs of New York City.
    Role: Research Consultant/Social Work Project Coordinator.
