| Dr.
Goodman is a graduate of the M.S.W. program at Hunter,
and she received her D.S.W. in 1990 from the Graduate
Center of the City University of New York. During
her twenty-five years in the field, she has worked
with the elderly, people with disabilities, terminally
ill children, persons with AIDS and people in community
corrections. In addition, she has worked for the past
eight years on a project to bring real-time multi-site
distance learning to thousands of New York City human
services workers.
Professor
Goodman teaches Group Work, Work with Mandated and
Involuntary Clients, Administration and Foundations
of Social Work Practice. In addition, she has taught
Social Work Research for the past 10 years. Her most
recent publication is a chapter in Bruce Thyer’s new
Handbook of
Social Work Research Methods, published by Sage
Publication, Inc. in 2000. The Chapter is entitled
“In-Depth Interviews,” and reflects her ongoing interest
in qualitative research methods.
Professor Goodman is planning a study dealing with
the problem of the lack of community resources for
newly released prisoners in New York City.
