Michael A. Lewis is a social worker and sociologist interested in the economic dimensions of social work and social policy and applications of mathematical methods in social work research. He’s written about income support policy, civic engagement, social networks, and quantitative research methods. From a practice point of view, Lewis worked as a community organizer in the East New York Section of Brooklyn, NY and has engaged in policy practice related to income support policy. He is also a co-founder of United States Basic Income Guarantee Network (USBIG) a network of academics and activists committed to promoting discussion of the basic income guarantee.
