Current Research

  • Fulbright US Scholar Program - Dominican Republic (5/2013 – 8/2013)
    I will teach courses, lectures, and workshops to university students and professionals working with children and youth in the Dominican Republic. I will also work with governmental, educational, and non-governmental organizations to cultivate exchange opportunities between the United States and the Dominican Republic.

  • Suicidal Behavior Among Dominican Youth
    This project is focused on developing the prevention and surveillance infrastructure for suicidal behavior among Dominican youth in the Dominican Republic and the United States. Thus far two national surveillance studies have been completed. Future work for this project will include cross national comparisons of Dominican Youth residing in the Dominican Republic and the United States, the development of a risk behavior surveillance program for Dominican Youth, and the implementation of prevention programs.
