This legislation, signed into law on July 3, 2006, amends Titles IV-B and IV-E of the Social Security Act, encourages states to improve protections for children and holds them accountable for the safe and timely placement of children across State lines.

Children's Bureau Informational Memorandum
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) issued an Information Memorandum (IM) to provide guidance to the states on the implementation of this law.
Child Welfare Policy Manual Questions
The Child Welfare Policy Manual conveys mandatory policies that have their basis in Federal law and/or program regulations.
