Thank you for your interest in the Silberman School of Social Work. The Admissions Department is dedicated to helping you determine if Hunter is the right fit for you. There are three types of programs offered through the School of Social Work, the post-master’s program, the MSW program, and the PhD program in social welfare.

There are several ways to get information about Silberman’s MSW program.

  • Come to an information session to learn more about the admissions process, program and method information, scholarships, financial aid, and tips to enhance your overall application.
  • If you have specific questions about our programs or if you would like information sent to you, email us at grad.socworkadvisor@hunter.cuny.edu.
  • If you are interested in the COD&P method, Please contact Dr. Mizrahi for more information at tmizrahi@hunter.cuny.edu. Please contact admission for application and requirements.
  • Visit the campus by contacting Admissions Ambassador at (212) 396-7886 to arrange a campus visit.

  • If you are and OYR applicant and interested in the DOHMH grant, you must receive approval from DOMHMH before submitting an application and paying the application fee. Please click here for the "Letter of Intent" for DOHMH approval.

Q:When will I hear from the school regarding my application?

A:The school is processing applications every day, it will take about 4 to 6 weeks for us review and complete your application. Once it is complete, it will move to the committee to review.
