Shadow Count 2013

Note: Shadow Count 2013 is on for Jan 28th! See you there.

SHADOW COUNT 2013 is seeking decoys for NYC's homeless count. Register today.

Throughout the night of Monday, January 28th into the morning of Tuesday, January 29th (overnight!), the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) will be sending hundreds of volunteers all across the city to count the homeless.

On that same night, paid volunteers, "decoys", will be sent to designated locations throughout the city to see how many are counted. Information on the number of decoys that are counted will be used to assess the accuracy of the official DHS 2013 Street Survey count. Shadow Count is funded by DHS but conducted independently by Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College researchers.

Shadow Count 2013: Night of January 28-29th, 2013
