Services for Students

Our office offers a wide spectrum of services to empower and motivate students to achieve their academic goals. At every step of a student's educational journey - from recruitment and new student orientation, to Commencement and career opportunities for alumni - the dedicated staff of the Dean of Students' office is here to help students succeed and make the most of their Hunter College experience.

Advocates for Students

Dean Ayravainen and Associate Dean Stokely are advocates for all Hunter students. They provide support to students who need assistance with matters related to College regulations, policies and procedures. Additionally, the Deans address a wide range of student concerns and challenges including: student complaints; support and assistance with personal emergencies; referrals to appropriate College offices and resources; and requests for individual and groups meetings regarding issues affecting the Hunter College community.

A Resource for the Hunter Community

The Dean's Office is also a resource for faculty and staff who want to learn more about the College's many co-curricular programs, initiatives, and policies. Our office serves as the primary source of information about academic integrity and student conduct. We help ensure that all parties fully understand the issues and steps involved and we help support students make sure that due process is followed in investigating all allegations.

The Dean's Office is located in Room 1103, East Building, open Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
