GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: Minor

advising_title.gif

The faculty advisor in the major department oversees both the major and the minor. Electives may be chosen to explore potential majors or minors, to prepare for the chosen major, to complement the major, to prepare for graduate study, or to satisfy your intellectual curiosity. For more specific information about majors, minors, and electives at Hunter College, visit the individual academic departments online, or consult the Hunter College Undergraduate Catalog.

Minor
A minor is a secondary liberal arts concentration usually related to your educational or career goals. It is chosen, with the approval of the major department, when the major is declared. If you are pursuing the BA degree, you are required to complete at least one-half of the minor in residence at Hunter. The BFA, BS, and BMus degrees do not require a minor.

Courses from the minor can be used without limit to satisfy the GER Core (Stages 1, 2, and 3), Writing Requirement, and Pluralism and Diversity.
