To ensure that you enroll in the appropriate level courses at Hunter College, you may be required to take one or more placement tests. Some will be arranged through the Testing Center, 150 North Building, which coordinates several placement tests for mathematics, writing, and reading. Other placement tests will permit you to register for the proper level of foreign language study, or will make it possible for you to apply for an exemption from the Foreign Language Requirement of the General Education Requirement (GER) or the Distribution Requirement (DR).
