ACADEMIC ADVISING
Revised Office Hours -Thanksgiving Week in Advising Service!
The Office of Advising Services will be open during its regular hours until 6:45pm on Monday and Tuesday, November 23rd and 24th. Please note however the office will be open only until 4:45pm on Wednesday, November 25th, and will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 26th and 27th for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Regular office hours will resume Monday, November 30th

The Peer Advising Leadership Program - “Be An Advisor to Your Fellow Students!”
Would you like to help your fellow students understand the GER? Are you someone who wants to welcome and help incoming students? Do you want to represent Hunter College and be a future leader? If you answer yes to any of these questions, then the Peer Advising Leadership Program is for you!
We are currently looking for Freshmen (2nd Semester), Sophomores, and Juniors to be Peer Advisors for the Leadership Program. Responsibilities of a Peer Advisor include providing academic advisement and support to the professional counselors in the Office of Student Services, assisting with New Freshman and Transfer Student Orientations, and helping students with program planning during the academic year.

Hunter Welcomes New Pre-Law Advisor!
Elise B. Jaffe has joined the Hunter community as the college’s new Pre-Law Advisor. With a background in the legal profession, Jaffe brings to Hunter in-depth information about the law school admissions process, course selection and preparation for law school. In her new role, Jaffe also facilitates access to law-related internships and other resources at Hunter and outside the college that can help students and alumni learn more about legal careers, including the various types of legal specialties and the different contexts in which attorneys practice.
Prior to joining Hunter, Jaffe was a corporate associate specializing in employee benefits at Debevoise and Plimpton, LLP, where she represented clients in connection with tax, securities, and related matters bearing on employer-sponsored benefits and compensation programs.
She earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from St. John’s University and her BA in American history and political science from the University of Pennsylvania. She also holds an M.Phil. fromYale University in political science, and an M.P.A. from the University of Wisconsin, where she was a University Fellow.
